- A: Unfortunately not. Hospice is a support program for patients and their families during the end of life process. You will get visits from interdisciplinary team members (Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers, Spiritual Care, etc.), and we are available for you 24/7 via telephone.
- A: Absolutely! Your doctor knows you best; he/she can remain involved in your care plan.
- A: No, most life-limiting illnesses with a life expectancy of 6 months or less qualify. If you’re unsure, give us a call. We are here to help.
- A: Absolutely not. Choosing to have hospice means you are choosing to forgo curative medical treatment. Our goal is to increase your quality of life and make sure you are comfortable and supported.
- A: A patient can be admitted onto our hospice program within 24-48 hours of a referral. Sometimes insurance authorization or doctor’s orders can take a bit longer, but we will do our best to get your on program as quickly as possible.
- A: Absolutely not, hospice will work with your PMD for the best medication regimen for you to manage your symptoms and pain.
